After such a great response and incredible support for Phase 1 (63 Hometown Heroes banners were installed across Dedham) we are excited to launch Phase 2 of the Hometown Heroes Banner Program!
This program, led by Dedham Stars & Stripes and the Veterans Services Office, honors current and former Dedham residents who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Eligibility
- Current or former Dedham residents
- Individuals who honorably served in: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, Space Force, or the Air/Army National Guard
Banner Details
- 24” x 48” double‑sided banner
- Includes the hero’s name, rank, photo, service branch, era, and dates of service
- Cost: $150, covering production, photo restoration, hardware, installation, and removal
Photo Requirements
- High‑resolution digital photo
- Military uniform preferred

- Applications for Phase 2 will be accepted now through August 5, 2026, with new banners scheduled for installation this September.
