The Town of Dedham and our contractor will begin construction on Sprague Street to install new sidewalks, between Dresser Ave and Carlisle Road. Work will begin on the north side of Sprague Street on May 27, 2025 (weather permitting).
Project Overview
This project is a Complete Streets Project, designed to improve safety for all modes of transportation, including vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists, using:
- new ADA compliant concrete sidewalks with granite curbing on both sides of the roadway;
- new ADA compliant concrete access ramps;
- three new Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) systems; and
- minor roadway widening for the installation of future bike lanes.
Project Limits
Work will take place between Dresser Ave. to Carlisle Road.
Anticipated impacts to roadway and sidewalks
- Intermittent traffic delays during the day, including temporary sidewalk closures and single-lane closures with Police details (alternating one-way traffic).
Funding Source(s)
This is being funded locally, and through funds provided by a MassDOT Complete Streets Grant and Fair Share allocation.
Project Updates
The Town will provide additional construction updates as the work progresses and will post a copy of the work notices to the Town website at www.dedham-ma.gov/DPWNews.
