Upcoming Roadwork: Highland Street - Martin Bates - Richards Street
The following is a copy of letter provided to abutters on Tuesday, April 1.
On Wednesday April 2
nd our contractor Lorusso Corp will begin reclaiming the existing roadway on Highland Street, Richards Street and Martin Bates rd. The contractor plans to start on Highland Street Wednesday morning. We will then grade the road for the first course of asphalt. There is not a definite asphalt paving schedule currently. When we have the paving dates, we will notify everyone again.
After the first layer of asphalt is installed, we will raise all the utility structures and set everything to the final grade for the top course of asphalt. We will also begin to remove sidewalks immediately following the first course of asphalt. The existing concrete sidewalk on Highland street from Court street to Richards Street will not be removed. We will repair all the current black top sections of the concrete sidewalk where the water and gas company installed service lines and also reinstall the granite curbing that was removed last year during the Water Main project.
All vehicles shall be removed from the street at 7AM throughout this project. I will send out another notice as the work progresses. Vehicle access will be delayed at certain times of the project.
This schedule is weather permitting and subject to change without notice. The Department of Public Works appreciates your cooperation and patience during this project. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this project, please speak to the Director of Public Works at 781-751-9350 or at jflanagan@dedham-ma.gov.
