MASSDOT ADVISORY FOR UPCOMING ROADWORK AT BUSSEY STREET/COLBURN STREET INTERSECTION BEGINNING WEEK OF OCTOBER 21

Please review the following information provided by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) Bussey Street Project Team about the upcoming work as part of the ongoing Bussey Street Bridge Replacement Project here in Dedham. This information has also been added to the Town website at www.dedham-ma.gov:

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE – INTERSECTION OF BUSSEY STREET & COLBURN STREET

Beginning the week of October 21, contractors will be milling the existing pavement, and then fine grading the gravel subbase. This work is scheduled to start the week of 10/21/2024. The base course paving is scheduled to begin on Monday October 28, 2024 and continue through Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Please note, heavy equipment will be present and operational. Access to all properties will be maintained during that period, however, please expect delays near construction crews performing the work.

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advance advisory messages will be placed to guide drivers through the work area.

This schedule is weather-dependent and involves coordination with multiple subcontractors, so it may change. The Project Team will work with the Town of Dedham to communicate significant schedule changes, as needed.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE – FINAL PAVING OPERATION: BUSSEY STREET, BOSTON TOWN LINE TO COLBURN STREET - BUSSEY STREET BRIDGE TO AIELLO DRIVE.

Beginning the October 30, contractors will be micro milling and final paving operations on the above-mentioned roads. The micro milling operation is scheduled for Wednesday October 30, 2024 through Thursday October 31, 2024.  Final paving is scheduled for the week of November 4th, 2024, weather permitting. The micro milling and paving operations will both occur during regular construction hours of 7:00AM to 4:00PM.

Additional work is required to complete the project at the intersection of Bussey Street and Colburn Street. Therefore, final paving at that location will be completed at a date yet to be determined.
