NOTICE OF VACANCY

Pursuant to Section 3-1(h) of the Dedham Home Rule Charter, the Select Board calls the attention of all residents and others to the fact the following vacancy exists.
VACANCY — Planning Board: One (1) Member
Term to fill an unexpired five-year term until the 2027 Annual Town Election (this vacancy will be filled at a joint meeting of the Select Board and Planning Board)
About the Planning Board
Pursuant to Section 3-9 of the Town Charter, the Planning Board shall consist of five (5) members. The term of office of a Planning Board member shall be for five (5) years.
The Planning Board shall make studies and prepare plans concerning the resources, possibilities and needs of the town. It shall prepare a comprehensive plan that shall set forth, in graphic and textual form, information concerning the present development of the town and parts thereof. Such comprehensive plan shall include recommendations of the Planning Board concerning the future development, including physical, economic, and environmental aspects, of the entire town and parts thereof. Such plan may be amended from time to time, and shall be formally reviewed and updated not less than once every 10 years.
The Planning Board shall review proposed zoning by-laws and amendments thereto in accordance with section 5 of chapter 40A of the General Laws, as it may be amended from time to time, and have all of the other powers and duties which are given to Planning Boards under the constitution and the General Laws and shall have such additional powers and duties as may be authorized by this charter, by by-law or by vote of the representative town meeting.
The Board meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm at Town Hall.

Any person who desires to be considered for appointment for this position must respond between July 29, 2026 and August 12, 2026; interested persons shall file with the Select Board their name and residential address, and a resume and/or statement which sets forth in clear and specific terms the qualifications they hold for the position.
