Hear the Declaration of Independence, as it was heard by the townsfolk of Dedham 250 years ago

The community event will feature a narrated reading of the Declaration of Independence, using a scripted program adapted to reflect the significance of the reading that took place in Dedham, in 1776. A narrator will guide the audience through the historical context and transitions, while seven community speakers will read the text of the Declaration of Independence.

The Dedham Museum & Archive will be open after the reading for visitors to see the exhibit, Dedham in Revolutionary Times.
